The goal of our laboratory is to delineate the mechanisms of cellular lipid compartmentalization in order to understand the molecular basis of neuronal function and neurodegeneration.Lipid homeostasis plays a central role in membrane integrity, signaling and cell viability. Dynamic transfer of lipids from one cellular compartment to another functions in this process; however, our knowledge regarding the mechanisms that control lipid delivery remains limited. By combining C. elegans genetics and mammalian cell biology,we aim to gain mechanistic insights into this regulationand understand its role in specialized cells, particularly neuronal cells.
We are currently recruiting Ph.D. students and postdoctoral fellows.
Scholarships are available for students who aim to pursue Ph.D. We welcome applicants for NTU presidential postdoctoral fellowship.
